When officers are on patrol, they often meet people facing sudden, immediate hardships—a stranded driver running out of gas, a family needing a hot meal, or someone requiring a safe place to sleep for the night.

How BlueBridge Works:

BlueBridge provides the framework, but the impact is entirely local. We equip local police and sheriff’s departments with our debit card program, which they leverage using funds raised directly from their community.  

Instead of handing out cash from their own wallets or a brochure, officers use their community-funded BlueBridge card to directly purchase practical, immediate help on the spot. The officer never hands the card over—they simply swipe it to pay a tow truck driver, buy groceries at the register, or cover a night at a local hotel, resolving minor emergencies before they turn into major crises.

“While on patrol, I noticed a vehicle parked with a cardboard sign on the back window. I pulled up to the vehicle and noticed they were seeking assistance for fuel. There was no one in the vehicle, so I left my business card and asked them to call 911 if they were still in need of assistance. A short time later, I was dispatched to this location as the vehicle owner called and stated she was still in need of assistance.
I met with this female who told me she recently left a physically and mentally abusive relationship and was trying to find a shelter that she could stay at. She told me that she drove as far away as she could, before running out of gas in Port Orchard. I offered to fill her vehicle up with gas, which she was very grateful for.
