Interested Agencies and Departments
Are you a member or leader of a law enforcement agency? Solid community policing tools and resources can be hard to find, but you’re in the right place!
Departments in our program overwhelmingly experience the following from our program:
Immediate lifelines for those in crisis: An officer’s timely intervention, even with modest support, can prevent individuals and families from spiraling into further despair. Such interactions create opportunities to reach those at risk of criminal behavior as well as those who are victims of crime, homeless, or suffering a mental health crisis. This approach is effective in reducing violent crime, improving police-involved outcomes, and strengthening community-police relations.
Bridging the gap between communities and law enforcement: Officers cannot fulfill their mission of “to protect and to serve” without the trust and cooperation of the communities they serve. Fostering opportunities for non-enforcement interactions between law enforcement and community members can help bridge the gap that often exists.
Boosting police morale and fostering a culture of service: Officers often encounter people in their most vulnerable moments. Enabling them to make a positive impact affirms their service ethos and reignites their sense of purpose.
