SUCCESS STORIES

“I was dispatched to a female who was walking down Smokey Point BLVD wearing no pants, who looked like she needed help, and was possibly on some kind of substance per the reporting party. The female was said to be looking into businesses and talking to herself. I arrived on scene and the female subject was fully clothed but had no other items. I asked her where all of her items were, and she stated that she didn’t have any. I proceeded to ask her how I could help, and where she was trying to go for the evening. The female asked if she could get a ride from me into Shoreline where her mother was. I explained that I could not leave the city of Marysville, but asked if a bus ticket would help her, get to where she was trying to go. She stated yes! In conversation while transporting the female to Safeway I asked if she had eaten anything today, to which she stated no and that she was hungry. I explained that when we arrived at Safeway, I would purchase her some grocery items to eat. When we arrived, I was able to purchase both the Orca card as well as food for the female. She was last seen eating the items that I had purchased crossing the street towards the bus stop. “

Marysville Police Department Takes Swift Action Against Human Trafficking

A few months ago, patrol responded to a massage parlor, suspecting human trafficking. The investigations unit at the Marysville Police Department swiftly took charge. The female in question was brought to the PD for an interview with the help of an interpreter. Working in collaboration with the FBI, crucial information emerged, prompting further investigation.

The Officer in charge, Officer Liffrig, leveraged her BlueBridge card. The immediate priority was ensuring the victim's safety. A hotel room was secured for the night, complete with toiletries and food. The officer arranged transportation for her to purchase necessities and facilitated her travel to and from the hotel.

In the fight against human trafficking, the Marysville Police Department acts decisively, using resources like the BlueBridge card to provide immediate support to those in need.

“I was called to the above listed address to what originally came out as a trespass call. The RP (reporting party) had stated that the home they had listed for rent, had people inside of it. When PD arrived and contacted the subjects, the female stated that she had just moved from a different state and had “rented” and paid for the house from an online add. The female occupant explained that she had given all of her funds to her online contact, for first, last and deposit. This ended up being a fraud situation, where her online contact had fraudulently posted the house for rent but was not the homeowner. By using the Blue Bridge card, I was able to provide a hotel room for a night, so the female could contact family/friends in hopes to borrow funds to re-rent at another location. “

“Detectives at the PD had requested that a victim come in for an additional interview. The male subject had explained that he was unable to drive to our location to do so, as he did not have enough fuel to get to and from the PD. This interview was a crucial part of the investigation and detectives explained that if he was willing to come to the PD, we could fill his vehicle with fuel to get back home. By using the Blue Bridge card, we were able to not only complete the interview and investigation but provide the male subject with gasoline. “
