Success Story #1
"I was dispatched to a message from a family who were in need of fuel. I've known this family from previous Bluebridge purchases and contacts. I was told they ran out of money and needed gas in order to keep the A/C running as the y lived in their vehicle for the meantime. I've known this family consisted of 2 juvenile daughters who went to school online. I've known the parents do their best to provide for their children and they told me they called for assistance as a last resort. I was able to fill up their gas tank and provide them with fuel to keep their daughters cool in the harsh summer heat. I sympathize for the family as I know they are working hard to not live in these conditions and the parents strive to find a home for their daughters." - Ofc. Alvarado

"I was patrolling W Broadway near the 2700 blk when I observed a motorcycle parked in the parking lot at Sunval. Next to the motorcycle was a a person laying next to the motorcycle on the pavement. I turned into the parking lot and noticed a person sleeping inside a sleeping bag, the temperature was 33 degrees. I contacted the subject and learned he was from Spokane and when he arrived in Moses Lake his motorcycle lost complete power, he had work done to it and showed me a receipt where $600 was spent to get it working; He said he was on a budget. I asked him if the sleeping bag was keeping him warm and asked if he would like a hotel room if I could arrange it. I walked to a nearby hotel and purchased a room using my Blue Bridge card. He went on to say today was his anniversary of being clean and sober. Prior to leaving he also explained medical conditions he was suffering from. He was very much appreciative and very thankful. "Female was left with no diapers, formula, wipes or bottles for the 5 month old child. Female stated the ex used her WIC card and was not able to buy anything this month. Me and another officer were able to get her some supplies to get her through a few days. I was thankful we had this resource so we could buy her a few items to get by. The female seemed to be thankful as well." - Ofc. Dunkin
