Success Story #1
"Patrol Units were dispatched to the scene of a Domestic Dispute (verbal argument), between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The boyfriend and girlfriend had two children in common. Through speaking with the individuals involved it seemed that there was a great deal of stress, due to the father losing his job and the mother having to go back to work as a result. The girlfriend asked the boyfriend for money, from an item that they sold. The boyfriend broke down in tears, having to tell the girlfriend that the money had to go to diapers, because they could not afford them, without selling items in their residence. I told the boyfriend that I could offer a solution, in purchasing diapers for their two children. The boyfriend initially did not want to allow me to help and when he finally accepted my help, he wanted to give me the ten dollars that he had allocated for the diapers. When I told him not to worry about giving me any money for the diapers, I could see instant relief on his face, as he had one less thing to worry about. I could tell that this small gesture made a big difference, as it allowed the father and mother one less thing to worry about, as they were going through a very difficult time in their lives." - Ofc. "There was a fire at an apartment complex where approximately 20-30 people were evacuated and moved to City Hall. We were unsure how long they were going to be there so we decided to buy them pizza from Pizza Hut." -Ofc. McNannay
Success Story #3
"The individual came into the Pullman Police Department Lobby because his mother was using methamphetamines. The individual needed a place to stay, as he did not want to stay in a resident with an individual using illicit drugs. It was because of the BlueBridge Program the individual was able to get a hotel room as opposed to having to make the choice between sleeping outside in less than twenty degree weather or remaining in a situation where methamphetamine was being used around him."
